The Living Word of God

"He sent forth his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave." Psalms 107:20

I believe in your Christian walk you have heard that the Bible is often mentioned as, "The Living Word of God". Have you ever thought why the Bible is mentioned as The Living Word of God? The Bible is actually the breath of God, His very spoken word. God's Word contains a supernatural power above anything. And there is life in God's Word; that's why the Bible is often mentioned or described as the Living Word of God. One word from the Lord is able to change your whole life and circumstances.

Let me tell you a story from the Bible, in Matthew 8:5-13. When the Lord Jesus arrived in Capernaum, a Roman officer came and pleaded with him, "Lord, my young servant lies in bed, paralyzed and racked with pain." Jesus said, "I will come and heal him." Matthew 8:6-7. Then the officer said, "Lord, I am not worthy to have you come into my home. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed! Matthew8:8. When the Lord heard this, He was amazed. Then the Lord Jesus said to the Roman officer, "Go on home. What you have believed has happened." And the young servant was healed that same hour. Matthew 8:13.

What really happened in that story? The Lord didn't go to the Roman officer's house to heal the sick servant. But the sick servant was healed by the Word of the Lord Jesus Christ, "Just say the word from where You are, and my servant will be healed! Mathew 8:8. Besides that, the Lord declared and approved the servant's healing by His spoken word, "Go on home. What you have believed has happened." Matthew 8:13. In other words, the Lord has done exactly what was written in the book of Psalms, "He sent forth his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave." Psalms 107:20.

See carefully the first part of the word "He sent forth his word and healed them". The Bible didn't say, "He sent forth his healing minister and healed them" or "He sent forth the church leaders and healed them" but the Bible says it is through His spoken Word that He heals and changes all situations.

Dearest, your healing and answer for your circumstances are in the Scriptures or in His very spoken word. If your child is ill, lay your hand on them and proclaim God's Word about healing in their lives. When you face life's difficulties, don't go around looking for a solution but go back to His word and proclaim His spoken Word over your situation. All you need is His spoken Word! One word from the Lord is able to change your whole life and circumstances. Read His word, be in His word and establish yourself in the Word of God.
