God Is Omnipotent

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26
No power can stop Him from accomplishing His desires and His plans, “I know that You can do all things; no plan of yours can be thwarted.” Job 42:2. He can do anything because He is the Omnipotent God. ‘God is Omnipotent’ means He is all-powerful. In other word, if our God, the Omnipotent God says something, it will happen. He has the power to make sure that it will happen. Therefore, when He promises eternal life to those who believe in Christ, He has the power to grant it. Just as He cannot sin, He has the power to forgive those who do.

My friend, do you know that if you believe in Him you are a child of the Omnipotent God! If you are a child of God, the all-powerful God is living in the inside of you. You may look small in size or maybe you are nobody in the society but in you there is Someone far greater then anyone living in you. So, when the all-powerful God is living in you, who and what can go against you? We as normal human beings, we have many limitations in us and many things are impossible for us but for God, all things are possible, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26. Because of the possible God is living in you, you too can do all things through Him, not apart from Him, “I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me.” Philippians 4:13. When we are in Him and He is in us, His Spirit will work in us. Even if you are small in size but you will feel like a spiritual giant and you will be able to walk this life victoriously through Him.

Allow me to tell you a story of a man from the Bible who experienced victory over victory and able to overcome many obstacles since he was a young man (read 1 Samuel 17). When the Philistine army had gathered for war against Israel, a Philistine giant measuring over nine feet tall and wearing full armor came out each day for forty days, mocking and challenging the Israelites to fight. His name was Goliath. Saul, the King of Israel, and the whole army were terrified of Goliath. No one could go against the giant Goliath.

But one day David, the youngest son of Jesse, was sent to the battle lines by his father to bring back news of his brothers. He was probably just a young teenager at the time. Even though he was a young man, he volunteered to fight Goliath. He went to face the giant only with five smooth stones and a sling. David won the battle and managed to kill the giant. Five smooth stones and a sling was not the only secret for his victory but David went to face the giant in the name of the Lord, “David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 1 Samuel 17:4.

In the natural it is impossible for David to overcome the giant Goliath. He was just a young man and small in size. Goliath could have torn him to pieces but miraculously David won the battle and brought the giant Goliath to the ground. God is the one who was working behind the scenes in David’s life. David was confident in the Lord not in himself, that’s why David said, “but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty.” David knew who His God was and deep inside him he knew all things are possible for his Almighty God. Today the same God who brought victory into David’s life, is your God and my God. He is still the same Omnipotent God. Face your life knowing that the all-powerful God is in perfect control in every area of your life.

Today’s Prayer,
God, thank You for Your Holy Spirit who lives in me is fighting the battles for me. I believe what the Bible says; I am more than a conqueror in You. Nothing is impossible for You. Lord, help me to be still and face life’s challenges through Your awesome power in me. Lord, enable me to be rooted in Your truth and move forward in this life as a victor. Through You I can overcome anything no matter what may come in my way. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
